Lesgrape varieties in Sardinia are numerous and varied.

The most recent studies have proven the use of grapes as early as 4500 BC, during the Nuragic period. Evidence of wine storage dated to 1300 BC. JC in Cabras have also been found with grape varieties related to Malvasia and Vernaccia, still very present on the island (and on this site).
The current Sardinian grape varieties come from the various influences and invasions that occurred during the turbulent history of the Mediterranean. The wine is therefore rooted in Sardinian culture and traditionally the family "Vigneto" -his winein Sardinian- was very widespread, each having its small production of wine for the year.

It is the Cannonau which is
the most famous of the island's wines. It is in fact a Grenache imported by the Aragonese but it nevertheless encounters in Sardinia a more dry climate and soils which give it its own characteristics.
